Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install an app?
No. It runs in your phone or computer browser. Open this page, allow the camera, and scan.
Is my document uploaded anywhere?
No. Detection, straightening and the PDF are all done on your device. With the phone-to-computer option the pages travel straight between the two devices.
How do I scan with my phone and get the PDF on my computer?
On the computer press Scan with my phone and scan the QR code with the phone camera. Take the photos, press Send to computer, and the pages appear on the computer, where you can reorder them and create the PDF.
What if the page edges are not found?
Place the page on a table of a clearly different colour with good light. If it is still wrong, drag the four corners yourself or press Find edges again.
Can it read the text (OCR)?
No. The PDF holds pictures of the pages, so you cannot select or search the text. Use a clean light and the Black & white filter for sharp, small files.
How good is the straightening compared with a scanner app?
It corrects the perspective of a flat page. It does not flatten curved pages such as the middle of a thick book, and it does not remove shadows as well as a dedicated app.
