Frequently asked questions

Which files can I convert?
Excel workbooks in .xlsx (and .xlsm) format and CSV files. Old .xls and OpenDocument .ods files are not supported yet: save them as .xlsx first.
Will the PDF look exactly like Excel?
Close, not identical. Cell values, number and date formats, merged cells, column widths, bold, italic, text colour, fills, borders and wrapped text are kept. Charts, pictures, shapes, conditional formatting, cell comments and your own print settings (page breaks, headers, print area) are not drawn.
Are formulas calculated?
No. The tool prints the result Excel saved with each formula. If a file was never opened in Excel, formula cells may be empty: open it, save it and try again.
What does "fit all columns on one page width" do?
It shrinks a wide sheet so every column fits on the page. Turn it off to keep the real size: wide sheets then continue on extra pages, rows first and then the next block of columns.
Does it work with Vietnamese and other languages?
Yes for Latin, Vietnamese, Cyrillic and Greek text. Emoji and Chinese, Japanese or Korean characters have no font in this tool and are left out; the preview tells you when that happens.
Is my spreadsheet uploaded?
No. The file is read and the PDF is built in your browser. Nothing leaves your device and there is no watermark.
