Frequently asked questions
Is the Word file fully editable?
In Editable text mode, yes: text, headings, bold and italic, bullet lists, simple tables and images are normal Word content. Exact layout mode keeps pages as pictures, so only a hidden text layer is searchable.
Will it look exactly like the PDF?
Not always. A PDF stores where every word sits, not paragraphs, so the layout is rebuilt from positions. Simple documents come out close; multi-column pages, complex tables and unusual fonts may need touch-ups. Choose Exact layout when the look matters more than editing.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?
No. A scan is only a picture of text, and there is nothing to read until it is recognised. Run it through our OCR PDF tool first, then convert.
What is not kept?
Form fields, comments, links, footnote numbering, headers and footers as separate parts, and rotated text such as watermarks are not carried over. Fonts are mapped to Arial, Times New Roman or Courier New.
Is there a watermark or a page limit?
No watermark, no signup, no page limit. Very large PDFs are limited only by your device memory.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The conversion runs in your browser, so the file never leaves your device and it also works offline once the page has loaded.
