Frequently asked questions
What kinds of damage can it fix?
Broken or missing cross-reference tables, wrong object offsets, a cut-off end of file and similar structure errors. These are the usual cause of Cannot open or Document is damaged.
Can it bring back lost content?
No. It recovers everything that is still readable, but data that was cut off or overwritten is gone. A half-downloaded file will give back only the part that arrived.
What if it says the file is too damaged?
Then no readable pages were found. Download or copy the original again, or look for an earlier backup.
Does it fix passwords?
No. If the PDF needs a password, enter it when asked; use Unlock PDF to remove one.
