How to use Compare PDF
Add both PDFs
Drop the original and the revised file together, or one after the other.
Pick how to compare
Text finds added and removed words. Visual compares the pages pixel by pixel, so it also catches moved images and layout changes.

Scroll the pages side by side, click a change in the list to jump to it, then save a report as PDF or HTML.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between Text and Visual mode?
Text mode reads the words of each PDF and shows what was added or removed. Visual mode draws each page and marks every area where the pixels differ, so it catches images, colours and layout too.
Can I compare scanned PDFs?
Use Visual mode. A scan is a picture without a text layer, and this tool does no OCR, so Text mode has nothing to read.
Why does a moved paragraph show as removed and added?
Text mode compares word by word in reading order. A block that moved shows as removed in one place and added in another.
Does Visual mode flag tiny rendering differences?
Very small anti-aliasing noise is ignored, but a page that is a different size or scale is marked as changed almost everywhere.
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. Both files are read in your browser and never leave your device. Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first.
