Frequently asked questions

Can I fill a PDF that has no fields?
You can make the fields yourself: choose “Create fillable PDF”, draw text boxes, checkboxes, radio buttons or dropdowns on the page, then save. Open the result here to fill it. To type straight onto a flat scan instead, use the PDF editor.
What does Flatten do?
It prints your answers onto the page and removes the fields, so the text can no longer be changed and shows the same in every viewer.
Are my forms uploaded?
No. Reading, filling and saving all happen in your browser, so personal data never leaves your device.
Which characters can I type?
Plain Latin letters, numbers and common symbols. Emoji and some non-Latin scripts cannot be printed with the standard PDF font and will cause an error on save.
What can it not do?
It does not run form scripts (auto-calculations, custom date formats), fill XFA/dynamic forms (some government forms), add signatures, or open password-protected PDFs.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Pages scale to the screen and fields can be tapped. Drawing new fields works with a finger too.
