What to do next

How to use Short Video Maker

  1. Add anything

Drop photos, video clips, a music file and text — or paste lines of text (each line becomes a slide). Photos are ordered by name; drag to change.

  2. Pick a look

Keep Short 9:16, choose a style and a length (15, 30, 60 seconds, or fit to the music). With music, cuts land on the beat and the video ends on a bar.

  3. Export

Watch the preview, then export the MP4 (1080×1920) and download it or send it to your phone. Use Edit for trims, captions and text on top.

Frequently asked questions

Is my media uploaded?
No. Pictures, clips and music are read, drawn and encoded in your browser. Projects are saved only in this browser (IndexedDB) so a refresh does not lose your work; delete them under “My videos”.
Is there a watermark?
No. An optional “Made with TabShed” end card exists, and it is off unless you switch it on.
How does the beat sync work?
When you add music, the page finds the tempo, the beats, the bars and the “drop” (where the song gets big) on your device, in a few hundred milliseconds. Cuts then land on beats — faster in loud parts — and the video ends on a bar with the music fading out. Very free-form music (live, rubato, ambient) may have no clear beat; the page tells you and uses normal timing.
What video formats can I export, and how fast?
MP4 (H.264 + AAC) at 1080×1920 for Shorts, 1920×1080 for landscape or 1080×1080 square; 720p on phones. Chrome, Edge and Safari use your hardware encoder, usually a bit faster than real time. Firefox and older browsers fall back to a slower encoder limited to 90 seconds.
What can it not do?
It is a quick maker, not a pro editor: one track, no keyframes, no multi-layer timeline, no stickers. Videos are limited to 3 minutes. HEIC photos and codecs your browser cannot play (some MKV/AVI/HEVC files) cannot be read — convert them first.
Can it make captions?
Yes, in Edit › Video & sound › Auto captions. It listens to the voice-over and the sound of your clips with a Whisper model on your device (about 41 MB the first time, then offline) and you can fix the words before export.
